La Meije.
One of the most iconic summit of the French alps for alpinists and skiers.
This is not a place where you feel confortable right away.
This substantial mountain towers you from all its peaky summits
when you face it from La Grave, a few thousands meters below,
it is like the sharp serrated silhouette menaces you.
I have never (and never will) set foot on those peaks,
but humbly hiking around discloses you so many visual delights,
from the silhouettes the schistositic rocks draws to the always changing
gradients the glacier spreads, the coloured gears the hikers wears
and the various rocky textures.
It is like enjoying a blueberry pie, from the crusty castellated sweet shortcrust
to the syrupy binding jelly that holds the blue/red coloured berries together.
